Jharkhand Assembly Speaker Dinesh Oraon today announced former chief minister Hemant Soren as the leader of opposition.
Being the single largest party with 19 MLAs in the House, Oraon said the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha is recognised as the main opposition party and its legislature party leader, Hemant Soren, as leader of the opposition.
The speaker said the party had given the request letter yesterday, the effective date for the status.
