India's largest two-wheeler maker Hero MotoCorp has appointed Markus Braunsperger, formerly with BMW, as the company's chief technology officer.
Braunsperger who joins Hero MotoCorp today was earlier with BMW where he spent 25 years in various roles covering the entire gamut of research and development, production and corporate strategy, the company said in a statement.
Commenting on the development, Hero MotoCorp Vice Chairman, CEO and MD Pawan Munjal said: "With his wealth of domain expertise and global experience, Markus is going to play an integral role in leading Hero's multi-location R&D ecosystem."

Harjeet Singh, who has given leadership to R&D function at Hero MotoCorp for past several years, will now be head of newly created global regulatory function, the company said.
"Hero already has lined up a range of exciting new products for the next few years, and I am going to work closely with the team to keep momentum and keep developing winning products for every market around the world that we enter," Braunsperger said.
