Heroin worth Rs 50 lakh seized, two arrested

Heroin worth about Rs 50 lakh in the international market was seized and two persons were arrested for allegedly carrying the contraband after which Delhi Police today claimed to have busted a syndicate which supplied drugs in the national capital.

The accused were identified as Babloo (24) and Vinod (37). Babloo was intercepted by the police while he was on his way to Avantika area to deliver the consignment of heroin. During search 295 gm fine quality heroin was recovered from his possession, DCP (Outer) Vikramjit Singh said.

Babloo's interrogation led to the arrest of his supplier, Vinod, who was later arrested with 155 gm of the contraband from Sultanpuri area.
 

The accused along with his associates used to sell heroin in Delhi and adjoining areas after receiving supplies from Bareilly in UP, police added.
