High-tech cheating busted in Raj, six held

A high-tech cheating racket was busted today when six people were arrested for facilitating cheating by candidates, who were writing the police constable examination here, police said.

Acting on a tip-off that the syndicate was operational at Saraswati Infotech examination centre in the Malviya Nagar industrial area here, a police team was sent there which arrested six people, including the centre head, said a police officer.

They were facilitating cheating in an online examination by giving remote access of the computers to a parallel centre running in a rented accommodation, Additional Director General (ATS and SOG) Umesh Mishra said.

The accused have been identified as Vikas Malik (30), Amol Mahajan (24), Abhimanyu Singh (25), Sanjay Chikara (25), Ankit Sehrawat (18) and Amit Jat (21).
 

Most of them are from Haryana, Mishra said.

He said preliminary investigation has revealed that the accused were in touch with 12 candidates.
