Hindu Chetna Samiti President and advocate Pradip Jani today sought legal action against Congress Lok Sabha by-election candidate Narendra Ravat for allegedly showing disrespect to great Indian personalities.

"Ravat and other Congress workers had burnt pages of books with pictures of great personalities like Mahatma Gandhi, Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, Maharshi Aurobindo, Rabindranath Tagore, Vinoba Bhave, Swami Vivekananda and others, showing disrespect towards them, last month," Jani said in a petition filed in the Chief Judicial Magistrate's court here.

He demanded registration of a case against Ravat and other Congressmen under various sections of the Indian Penal Code.
