Hitachi Data Systems ties up with Verizon Enterprise

Hitachi Data Systems, a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Japanese electronics major, has joined hands with NYSE-listed Verizon Enterprise to develop a software-defined storage solution.
Verizon is focused on developing an ecosystem of enterprise technologies built to run on Verizon Cloud, the company's new infrastructure as a service and object-based storage offering, a company release said.
"We are building a dynamic ecosystem of enterprise-class networking, storage, and software-based capabilities that will run on top of our new verizon cloud infrastructure and Hitachi Data Systems is an important part of this plan," Verizon Terremark Chief Technology Officer John Considine said.
