Hospital to provide compensation to deceased nurse's family

The private hospital, where a nurse died allegedly because of medical negligence while being on duty, today said it would provide Rs 5 lakh as compensation to her family members.

"We will compensate the family members of the nurse with Rs 5 lakh," a senior official of AMRI hospital, Salt Lake, said.

The hospital authorities also decided to set up a committee to probe the death of the nurse, he added.

Uma Khes, a nurse of AMRI Salt Lake, died while being on duty yesterday following a cardiac arrest at the hospital itself allegedly due to medical negligence after she complained of headache.
