To avoid confusing reports about dengue in Cuttack district, the administration has asked all private and government hospitals to send blood samples of suspected dengue patients to SCB Medical College and Hospital for ELISA NS-1 and IGM tests for confirmation.
Chief District Medical Officer (CDMO) Prafulla Kumar Behera said none in Cuttack had died of the disease so far this year the SCB facility has received 10 blood samples till now this season and of them only five have tested positive.
Among the five who tested positive, three have already been discharged from hospitals they were admitted after treatment, while the rest two are now undergoing treatment in SCB Hospital, he said.
SCB Medical College and Hospital sources said a special and exclusive ward having 50 beds was ready to handle dengue patients.
