Social Welfare Movva Madal Boys Hostel in-charge P Gopalakrishna has been suspended after he allegedly forced inmates of a scheduled caste hostel to work as agricultural labourers, Social Welfare Deputy Director V Madhusudhana Rao said here today.
He said that Gopalakrishna had forced hostel inmates to labour in the fields and also beat up children with sticks.
Parents of victimised students lodged a complaint with the Kuchipudi police.
Kuchipudi police sub-inspector Suresh said that cases have been booked against the hostel staff.
Rao also said that a complaint has been registered against Goplakrishna for thrashing children.
The Deputy Director said that P Srinivasa Rao has been appointed as additional hostel warden for the time being.
