Streaming platform Hotstar Wednesday said it has appointed Sameer Kapoor as the vice-president of agency ad sales.
He will be responsible for driving the relationship with media agencies to deliver measurable and impactful media strategy for clients through Hotstar and will be operating from Mumbai, the company said in a statement.
Prior to joining Hotstar, Kapoor, who has over 17 years of media and marketing experience, was associated with Google as the head of brand measurement for the India and Southeast Asia markets.

Broadcaster Sony Pictures Networks India (SPN) Wednesday said it has roped in Indranil Chakravorty as the head of StudioNEXT, its independent production venture.
Chakravorty will be reporting to Danish Khan, businessheadatSonyEntertainment Television. They both will set up the studio business, the company said in a statement.

********************* VA Tech Wabag bags Rs 555-crore contract in Qatar *
Water technology service provider VA Tech Wabag Wednesday said it has bagged a contract worth Rs 555 crore from the Public Works Authority of Qatar (ASHGHAL).
For this EPC project, the scope includes the rehabilitation of Doha South sewage treatment works using lamella clarifier, disc filter and aerobic digester technology to treat the additional sewage generated by the football stadium, which is under construction for the FIFA World Cup 2022, a release said.
The project is scheduled to be delivered over a period of 24 months, while the existing plant is in operation.
********************* BSE's commodities segment hits fresh all-time peak of Rs 578cr *
BSE's newly-introduced commodities derivatives trading platform, which offers futures trading in gold and silver contracts, touched fresh all-time peak on October 23 with the traded value logging Rs 578 crore.
The gold contracts recorded a traded volume of 1,623 lots with a value of Rs 521.49 crore and the silver contracts clocked a traded volume of 488 lots with a value of Rs 57.18 crore, the exchange said in a release.
