HP eyes 40 per cent renewable electricity usage by 2020

Personal computers and printing major HP Inc today said it will achieve 40 per cent renewable electricity mark by 2020 in its global operations, besides pledging to achieve 100 per cent of such usage in future.

Reinforcing its "dedication to integrating sustainability into its core business strategy", HP said it "plans to reach the 40 per cent renewable electricity mark by 2020 in its global operations".

"We continue to reinvent a more sustainable business and society, not only through innovative energy-efficient technology, but also with our move towards a business that is powered entirely by renewable electricity," HP Inc President- Asia Pacific and Japan, Richard Bailey told reporters.
 

It further said, "As part of this goal, HP is joining RE100, a global initiative of top businesses committed to 100 per cent renewable electricity."

RE100 works with companies to help businesses transition to renewable energy sources and accelerate the transformation of the global energy market to a low-carbon economy.
