Leader of Opposition in Himachal Pradesh Assembly Prem Kumar Dhumal today alleged that the state government was providing "patronage" to the mafia rendering the law enforcement agencies "helpless".
"Himachal, known as 'devbhumi' has been converted into the land of criminals and mafia and any honest officer who dares to take action against the mafia should be ready for transfer," the former Chief Minister said in a statement here today.
Dhumal alleged drug trade was "flourishing" in the state and the hands of law enforcing agencies were "tied" as action was being taken against honest officers doing their duty.

Dhumal alleged "Law and order had collapsed" in the state and instead of reining in the mafia, the government was busy "framing the political opponents in false cases".
