'HR govt keeping close watch on move of Punjab on SYL issue'

Haryana BJP President Subhash Barala today said the government is keeping a close watch on the move of Punjab government and the situation prevailing in the State following the Supreme Court decision on SYL issue.

He said that all BJP MLAs will meet Punjab Governor tomorrow, requesting him that in case a bill that is "unconstitutional" and against the interest of Haryana is presented by the Punjab Government in the Vidhan Sabha then he should not accept it.

He said the former Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda and other Congress MLAs also had a meeting with Chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar today on this issue.
 

Hooda assured Khattar of their full support and cooperation on the SYL issue.

He said that all party meeting has also been convened on SYL issue on November 17.

The Supreme Court on Thursday held as unconstitutional the 2004 law passed by Punjab to terminate the Sutlej-Yamuna Link (SYL) canal water sharing agreement with neighbouring states.
