Hry police arrests man for conducting illegal sex determination tests

The Haryana Police arrested a man on Wednesday for allegedly conducting illegal pre-natal sex determination tests, an official said.

Based on a complaint lodged by Deputy civil surgeon Dr Rajeev Singla, a raid was conducted at a clinic in Andheri village of Naraingarh city and the accused identified as Puroshottam was arrested, he said.

A case was registered against him and two others for running the clinic.

"Puroshottam was not having any valid degree to run the clinic. Moreover, he did not obtain any licence from the Health Department," the official said.

Puroshottam was nabbed on Wednesday while his two accomplices were arrested last month.

 

Some medicines, equipment and cash worth Rs 10,000 were seized from the clinic, the official added.
