With a view to preventing damage to road surface and pollution through auto emissions, the Haryana Transport Department has directed all Regional Transport Authorities (RTAs) in the state to conduct regular check of vehicles carrying overloads.
The RTAs have been directed to take action against those violating the rules, an official spokesman said here.
They have also been asked to furnish a report regarding the number of overloaded vehicles challaned and off-loaded on a monthly basis.
He said that in case the driver is found to be a habitual offender, his license might be revoked after following the prescribed procedure.
