The Haryana government has decided to create awareness about cyber security among students from Class 5 to Class 12 in the state's government and private schools, a minister said today.

Education Minister Ram Bilas Sharma said the electronics and information technology department has prepared some tips for students on how to safely use the internet.

Internet has become an important part of a student's life. They use it for their studies and to get other information, he said, adding that the programme will make them aware about cyber threats.

The minister said contents have been designed considering various age groups of students.

He said district education offices and district elementary education officers have been directed to put up the contents on notice boards or inform students about this during school hours.

The students would be advised not to share details of their parents bank accounts and password with unknown persons while using internet, phone or computer, he said.

For this, all schools have been directed to organise special camps, Sharma added.
