In a huge haul of explosives, 140 kg of ammonium nitrate, 380 gelatin sticks and 192 detonators were seized from two quarries at Kaduneri village in the district today and five persons arrested in this connection, police said.
Acting on a tip off, officials of the Organised Crime Intelligence Unit here raided the quarries where the explosives had been hoarded, they said, adding three tractors were also seized from the area.
The arrested persons were later handed over to police.
