Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Nabam Tuki today said development can be effective only when human resources are adequately capable and strengthened to achieve the goal.
"Human resources need to be properly oriented to ensure the benefits reach the targeted groups and result in better quality of life along with sustainability," Tuki said while inaugurating the two-day state level orientation training-cum-workshop on rural development programmes here.
He called for setting up of more extension training centres (ETCs) in the state as training was the most important ingredient for success of the programme and assured all support for strengthening the institutions, like SIRD, the nodal agency for imparting rural development related training.

Appreciating the state government for devolving powers to the PRIs, RD Parliamentary Secretary Punji Mara said this has increased the responsibilities of the PRI functionaries.
He exhorted all participants to undergo the training so that the objective of rural development was achieved in the land-locked state where population was remotely located.
Earlier, RD secretary B R Babu spoke on the macro planning and macro management of resources.
The department has conducted extensive trainings throughout the state to create awareness and impart basic knowledge on RD programmes, he added.
