Humidity shoots up after rains

Rains lashed parts of the national capital today pushing up humidity levels that added to the discomfiture of the residents of the city.

The Safdarjung observatory got 16.3 mm of rains till 5.30 PM, while Palam, Lodhi Road, Ayanagar and Ridge received 10 mm, 21.6 mm, 38 mm and traces of precipitation, respectively in the corresponding period.

The city had a high of 35.6 degrees Celsius and recorded humidity levels up to 91 per cent. Traffic snarls were reported at various places due to the problem of waterlogging following rains.

The weatherman has predicted overcast conditions and rains tomorrow. The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to hover around 33 and 27 degrees, respectively.
