Moderate Hurriyat Conference chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq today welcomed the decision of the Director General of Military Operations (DGMOs) of India and Pakistan to honour the 2003 ceasefire and follow it in letter and spirit.
"Such a decision will at least provide a huge sigh of relief to the people on both sides of the (Line of Control) LoC, who otherwise become the first causality of border hostilities, firing between the Indian and Pakistan armies," Mirwaiz said addressing a religious gathering here.
Mirwaiz, however, said that the same cannot be said for the people of Kashmir, where the situation continues to be worrisome and grim.
