A man was today sentenced to undergo life imprisonment for murdering his wife four years ago in the city.
The prosecution case was that Hasen used to take and sell gold ornaments belonging to his wife Fathima Parveen, resulting in frequent quarrel between them in their house.
During such a quarrel on June 19, 2011, Hasen strangulated Fathima to death.
Principal District Sessions Court judge N Sesashayee in his judgement ordered Hasen to undergo life imprisonment for the crime and also imposed a fine of Rs 10,000.
