Husband-wife commit suicide after heated argument

A woman committed suicide by consuming poision allegedly after a heated argument with her husband, who hanged himself few hours later in Lanka police station area here.

Rita (34) consumed poison following an argument with her husband Shatrudh (38) at their residence over a property related matter, said Dev Prakash, Station Officer, Lanka police station.

Her husband, too, committed suicide after some hours of her death by hanging himself from a tree near his house. The body was spotted by locals today morning, added Prakash.

Their bodies have been sent for autopsy and further investigation into the case is on, Prakash said.
