Hyderabad: fire at furniture shop, one dead

A 35-year-old man today died due to suffocation after a fire broke out at a furniture shop in KPHB area here tonight.

According to KPHB police, the victim Shamshuddin was on the third floor of the shop when the fire started.

He tried to escape by stairs but was trapped and died of suffocation, according to the preliminary probe.

The fire was soon brought under control, said inspector V Sreekanth Gaud. Probe into the cause was on.
