Hyundai Motor India has crossed a major milestone of 40 lakh units of cumulative sales in the domestic market in nearly two decades since it started selling cars in the country.
The company's journey began in India 19 years ago with the launch of entry level model Santro, the country's first model with 'tall boy' design.
"We assure our commitment to the Indian car market," Hyundai Motor India Ltd (HMIL) Managing Director YK Koo said in a statement.

With the successful launches of various products including Grand i10, Elite i20, i20 Active and Creta, Hyundai has witnessed success in the Indian market, the company said.
Hyundai sells ten products in the Indian market from the entry level hatchback Eon to premium sports utility vehicle Santa Fe.
"Hyundai is the largest exporter and the largest premium car manufacturer in India catering to the growing needs and demands of the aspirational Indian customer", Koo said.
