I am fairly romantic: Daniel Radcliffe

'Harry Potter' star Daniel Radcliffe says he is a romantic in real life, similar to his character in 'What If'.

The 25-year-old actor, who is dating actress Erin Drake, said he found playing a romantic role interesting as the character bears similarities with him, reported Contactmusic.

"I am fairly romantic, at least as my character is in the film. I've surprised people with trips to New York before and such things. But sometimes it backfires on me," he said.

"It (being a romantic lead) was great fun. But when approaching the film, I don't think I thought, 'It's this genre' so I have to act a certain way. You just approach it as a character. He's the closest character to me that I've played," he said.
 

'What If', featuring Adam Driver, Mackenzie Crook and Rafe Spall, is slated to release on August 20.
