Idol worth Rs 1 cr seized by UP police

The police today seized an ashtdahtu idol, worth over Rs 1 crore, from two persons during a checking drive near the Narsingh Kachhua crossing here, an official said.

The idol was seized from

Ravi Soni and Abdul from near the crossing in the Saini area, Superintendent of Police Pradeep Gupta said.

The seizure was made after a tip off, he said.

The idol is 5.95 kg and has 52 per cent gold in it, he said, adding that it is worth about Rs 1 crore.

He said the matter is being probed.
