IIFCL contributes Rs 3.5 cr for cancer patients

A sum of 3.5 crore was contributed by the India Infrastructure Finance Company Limited during 2016-17 to the Health Minister's Cancer Patient Fund for treatment of poor cancer patients.

An official statement said that during 2015-16, the company had contributed a total of Rs 7.5 crore and 385 cancer patients have been benefited.

"An amount of Rs 3.5 crore has been contributed by India Infrastructure Finance Company Limited (IIFCL) during 2016-17, for which an MoU was signed on March 20," the statement said.

A cheque of Rs 3.5 crore was presented to Union Minister of State for Health Faggan Singh Kulaste by IIFCL CMD S B Nayar yesterday.
 

The contribution comes after an appeal was made to the public sector units to contribute funds under their CSR Scheme towards Health Minister's Cancer Patient Fund-CSR for treatment of poor cancer patients.
