IIITDM, Kurnool is set to get the status of institute of national importance.
The Union Cabinet today cleared a proposal to introduce the Indian Institutes of Information Technology (Amendment) Bill, 2017 in Parliament to provide for the inclusion of Indian Institute of Information Technology Design and Manufacturing (IIITDM), Kurnool along with the other IITs in the Principal Act.
Subsequently, IITDM Kurnool will be declared as an Institute of National Importance (INI) with the power to award degrees to students, a statement said.
