IISWBM honours R P Goenka

Renowned industrialist R P Goenka has been named for the distinguished management fellowship award, the highest honour of the Indian Institute of Social Welfare and Business Management (IISWBM), on its diamond jubilee.

The honour was being conferred on Goenka in recognition of his distinguished contribution to the growth of business in India, Indian management and his 'commitment to Kolkata', an IISWBM spokesman said today.

IISWBM, formed 60 years ago by the Calcutta University, is India's first management institute.

The fellowship will be awarded soon at Goenka's residence because of his ill health.

Goenka is the chairman emeritus of the RP Sanjiv Goenka group and the chairman of the CESC limited.
