Illegal gun factory busted in Morigaon

An illegal gun factory was destroyed by the police and arms along with ammunition were recovered from Morigaon district in central Assam today, the police said.

Acting on a tip off, the police and security forces unearthed the illegal gun factory at Dhing Khan Patty, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Morigaon, Kul Pradip said.

A gang dacoits, mostly from Bangladesh, were manufacturing illegal arms and ammunition for conducting their crime, Pradip said.

A notorious criminal identified as Abdul Jalil was arrested with two barrel guns and 43 rounds of ammunition from the busted gun factory, the SP said.
