Press Trust of India Jaipur
Accusing Rajasthan government of sheltering mining mafia, People's Union for Civil Liberties (PUCL) today alleged that 342 units of mining and stone crushing were illegally operating and flourishing in Neemkathan in Sikar district.

"The stone crushing machines are causing severe health hazards and threat to lives of a number of persons who have protested against them," PUCL General Secretary Kavita Srivastava told a press conference here.

She said people affiliated with PUCL were holding protests and agitations against the mining mafia in Toda, Dokan, Meena Ki Nangal, Bharla, Dabla and other villages near Neemkathana town in Sikar district for many years.

PUCL will hold a five-day camp in Neemkathana's villages and if its demand was not met, public protests would be held and the matter would also be taken to court.
