Illicit foreign liquor branding unit raided, 2 held

A mixing and labeling unit of illicit foreign liquor was raided and two men were arrested for their alleged involvement in the case by a joint team of Excise Intelligence Bureau and Delhi police in Mehrauli area here.

Ashwin Lamba and Rattan Singh were arrested on Tuesday acting on an intelligence input received in Excise Intelligence Bureau of the Excise Department regarding mixing/labeling of foreign liquors in Chhattarpur, Mehrauli, an official statement said today.

The team recovered 40 bottles of foreign liquor of various brands, 72 bottles of IMFL (for sale in Delhi), 300 empty bottles, 2000 caps of bottles of various brands of foreign liquor and raw materials like colour bottles, perfume bottle, refilled bottle, 10,000 labels/stickers and cartons of various brands were recovered from the unit.
 

A case under section 33 of Delhi Excise Act has been registered at Mehrauli police station, police said.
