IMF sees deep weaknesses in Iran economy after sanctions

The International Monetary Fund said today that Iran's economy faces deep structural weaknesses as intensified nuclear sanctions have added to other domestic challenges to the government.

The IMF said a combination of shocks had "weakened the economy," including "the intensification of trade and financial sanctions" over the country's disputed nuclear plan.
