India basketball team leaves for Turkey

Indian men's basketball contingent will be leaving today for training-cum-preparation trip to Turkey from July 20 to 29 ahead of the 27th FIBA Asia Championship in Manila, Philippines scheduled to take place from August 1 to 11.

The Indian team will play four warm up games against various professional club sides across Istanbul, Turkey.

India beat both Nepal and Afghanistan in the South Asian Basketball Association (SABA) zone qualifiers round held in Thyagraj Stadium here from June 2-4 sealing a berth in the 27th FIBA Asia Championship.

National men's team Head Coach Scott Flemming will be leading the Indian contingent for his first Championship with the team along with second year Assistant Jora Singh and first year Assistant G R L Prasad.
 

India team for the exposure trip in Turkey: Sambhaji Kadan, Narender Kumar Grewal, Pratham Singh, Vinay Kaushik, Arjun Singh, Vishesh Bhriguvanshi , Amritpal Singh, Joginder Singh, Satnam Singh Bhamara, Amjyot Singh, Yadwinder Singh, Rikin Shantilal Pethani.

Head coach: Scott Flemming; Coach: Jora Singh; Assistant coach: G R L Prasad.
