The Indian Association of Lawyers (Jharkhand unit) today observed the 125th birth anniversary of Dr Bheem Rao Ambedkar and celebrated Constitution Day here.
Garlanding the statue at Ambedkar Chowk near the Jharkhand High Court, the lawyers read out from the Constitution and highlighted the need for appointment of tribals and women in the posts of advocate general and additional advocate general.
They also called for among others filling up of vacancies in the high court to speed up pending cases, creation of a welfare fund for advocates, said a release issued by A K Rashidi, Yogendra Prasad, Azam Khan, Ajay Shankar, Syam Sundar, Naresh Mahto and other advocates on the occasion.
