Indian compound women's team wins bronze

India's compound women's team today pocketed the bronze medal after beating Iran 224-217 in the archery competition of the Asian Games here.

Indian team comprising Trisha Deb, Purvasha Shende and Surekha Jyothi, shot 224, while Sakineh Ghasempour, Maryam Ranjbarsari and Shabnam Sarlak of Iran could shot a total of 217.

Both Indian and Iranian girls had a total of nine 10's each at the Gyeyang Asiad Archery Field here.

The Indian team had earlier lost its semi-finals by a slim margin against Chinese Taipei 224-226 on Thursday to set up a bronze-medal play-off with Iran.
