Indian Hotels to check out from Gateway Jodhpur, Ahmedabad

Tata Group hospitality major Indian Hotels Company (IHCL) will cease to manage two hotels under its upscale brand Gateway in Jodhpur and Ahmedabad from May 9, 2016.

"The Indian Hotels Company Ltd (Taj Hotels Resorts & Palaces) has decided to discontinue its management contract for The Gateway Hotel, Jodhpur and The Gateway Hotel, Ummed Ahmedabad," the company said in a statement.

The Indian Hotels Company (IHCL) and its subsidiaries are are collectively known as Taj Hotels Resorts and Palaces.

"Taj Hotels Resorts & Palaces will continue managing the hotels as per previously agreed contractual terms until May 9, 2016," it added.
 

The company did not disclose reasons for such a move.

"The Taj remains fully committed to honouring all its contractual obligations to our stakeholders during this period," Taj Hotels Resorts and Palaces, Associate Vice President - Public Relations, Rakhee Lalvani said.

Established in 1901, Taj Hotels Resorts and Palaces comprises 96 hotels in 61 locations across the globe, including presence in India, North America, United Kingdom, Africa, Middle East, Malaysia, Sri Lanka, Maldives and Bhutan.
