Indian Oil on course for semifinal berth in Beighton Cup

Defending champions Indian Oil brightened their semifinal hopes with a 7-0 rout of Eastern Railway Sports Association in a quarterfinal league of the 118th All-India Beighton Cup, here today.

Dharamveer Singh slammed the board twice in the 4th and 42nd minutes, while Yuvraj Walmiki, Sunil Yadav, Didar Singh, S V Sunil and Deepak Thakur struck one each to complete the thrashing of ERSA at SAI artificial turf.

In another match, Central Railway registered a thrilling 4-3 win over Air India.

Narad Bahadur, Deepak Lakra and Rajendra Yadav scored for the winners.

Joga Singh struck a hattrick for Air India but it was not enough as the Airmen could not find an equaliser.
