A Keralite working as security guard in a private firm in Afghanistan died in a mine rpt mine explosion recently, according to information received by his family here.
The deceased was identified as Ponnappan (52) from Kaduthurithi in Kottayam district, family sources said. The information was passed on to the family yesterday by his colleagues.
Details regarding the circumstances of the death are yet to be obtained, sources said.
Ponnappan had gone to work in Afghanistan after retiring from the Indian Air Force.
