In a shocking incident, two elderly women were found murdered at their house in the densely populated Bhaktawar Ram Nagar here today.

The women, who were cousins, were identified as Shakuntala Mishra (63) and Anita Dube (50). Nobody else lived in the house.

They were found to be strangulated and hit on the head with a heavy object.

Robbery seemed to be the motive, said Additional Superintendent of Police Ramji Shrivastava.

Mishra had retired from the Forest Department while Anita was working in the Education Department, he said. Further probe is on.
