Infant dies after given wrong injection

A 6-months-old girl child today died after she was allegedly given a wrong injection by the hospital staff, police said today.

Shagun was taken to a primary health center this morning by her father, Maniram. She was given an injection by one Asha and other hospital staff present there. After the injection, Shagun's condition deteriorated and she died after a short while, SP Dehat, Dharamveer Singh said.

After the news broke out, Shagun's family members and villagers protested at the centre, he said.

The injection has been sent to laboratory for further test and investigation is on, he added.
