The Orissa High Court has restrained the State Vigilance Directorate, the anti-corruption wing of state police, from arresting the wife and parents of miner Deepak Gupta till September 18.
The interim relief to the family members of the fugitive miner came when the HC adjudicated over a petition filed by Gupta pleading to quash the FIR registered against him and his family members in March this year.
Appearing for the petitioner, lawyer Manoj Mishra sought interim protection for the family members saying Gupta's wife and parents were not involved in illegal mining as claimed in the FIR.
