Israel declares radical wing of the Islamist Movement illegal

Israel has banned the "northern branch" of the Islamist Movement, accused of being one of the main groups behind recent violence at Jerusalem's Al-Aqsa mosque, the government said today.
The head of the organisation, Raed Salah, was sentenced to 11 months in jail last month for having incited violence at the holy site in a 2007 speech.
