IT dept conducts survey at pharma company run by son of Cong leader

The Income Tax department today conducted a survey at a pharma company, run by son of former railway minister and Congress leader Pawan Kumar Bansal, a senior IT official said.

The operation was conducted at seven locations including Solan (Himachal Pradesh), Panchkula (Haryana), Mumbai and Chandigarh, the official said.

The survey operation at Theon Pharmaceuticals began at around 1 pm and around 70 income tax sleuths from Punjab, Haryana and Chandigarh were involved in the whole operation.

The department is looking into the alleged "misuse of the tax incentives" by the pharma company, the official said.

Theon Pharmaceuticals Ltd manufactures tablets, capsules, injectables and dry syrup formulations.
