J&K cops foil weapon-snatching bid

The Jammu and Kashmir Police foiled a weapon-snatching bid in the state's Pulwama district tonight, an official said.

Militants attacked a guard post at a protected person's residence in Pulwama in south Kashmir in order to snatch weapons of the cops on duty, a police official said.

The attack was, however, successfully repulsed by the alert policemen. Further details of the incident are awaited, the official added.
