Deputy Chief Minister Nirmal Singh today made a whirlwind surprise visit to offices here and directed the officials to ensure an uninterrupted power supply in the city which is currently hit by heat wave conditions and frequent power cuts.

Singh flew from Srinagar to Jammu for conducting surprise checks at the government offices in the wake of plethora of complaints surrounding absence of officials during their office hours, an official said.

Deputy CM visited Jammu Development Authority (JDA) and Galadni Power station in the city. He called for an attendance record after finding several officials of JDA absent from their duties. Top officers and other JDA employees had gone to Kashmir to attend the Board of Directors (BoD) meeting.

Singh expressed concern over the situation and directed officials to ensure punctuality and good governance in the state, the official said.

At Galadni Power station, one of biggest power receiving stations in the state, Singh asked the engineers to ensure the uninterrupted power supply to the people of Jammu in the wake of the hot weather conditions.
