Opposition PDP today accused the National Conference-led Jammu and Kashmir government of using "oppressive means" to threaten political opponents.
"Instead of fulfilling aspirations of the people, elected representatives are indulging in oppressive means to threaten their political opponents," alleged PDP MP from Srinagar Tariq Hamid Karra while addressing party workers at Kishtwar.
He said the Omar Abdullah-led NC-Congress coalition government has become a "non-performing liability" on the people of Jammu and Kashmir.

He further claimed that a nexus between contractors and politicians was a major reason for backwardness in various far-off areas of the state.
Also addressing the gathering, Leader of Opposition in J&K Assembly Abdul Rehman Veeri said, "The coalition government run by them seems to be a rudderless arrangement lacking direction and commitment.
"Instead of solving basic problems of the masses leaders of both leaders of National Conference and Congress have been befooling the people by making false promises," he said.
