J&K Guv approves financial assistance to cancer patients

Jammu and Kashmir government today approved a financial assistance of over Rs 50 lakh to 147 cancer patients.

Governor N N Vohra approved financial assistance of Rs 54,30,000 in favour of 147 persons suffering from cancer, an official spokesman said.

The decision was made on the recommendation of the committee constituted under Cancer Treatment and Management Fund for Poor (CTMFFP).

A meeting was held under the chairmanship of Financial Commissioner, Planning and Development Department -- B B Vyas -- and other officers of the committee, he said.
