J-K: Incentives for tourism sector to continue

The packages and incentives announced in last year's annual budget for the promotion of tourism sector in Jammu and Kashmir will continue during the current financial year also.

This was announced today by state Tourism Minister Sajad Ahmad Kichloo is Sonmarg.

The minister said the past couple of years have seen a significant increase in the influx of tourists to the state.

Kichloo said with enhanced funds for development of basic tourist infrastructure, Sonamarg transit camp now sprawls over 25 kilometre area starting from Gagan Gir to Baltal base camp for Amarnath yatris.

The minister said Sonamarg is fast emerging as a major tourism destination of the state, at par with Pahalgam and Gulmarg.
