Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti today released cash assistance of Rs 5 lakh for the kin of Maqbool Sahil, a journalist and an author, who passed away in Srinagar two days ago, an official spokesperson said.
The chief minister recalled the contribution of Sahil in preserving and promoting Pahari art and literature, besides his role in strengthening local journalism in the state, he said.
